Here are the highlights of the dice added in FEBRUARY 2010

EVENTS OF PARTICULAR NOTE

The BIG event of note this month was the discovery of

They use a radical new concept in product development ... 3D printers used for Rapid Prototyping have been around for years ... I have been watching the prices ... as I wanted to own one ... but that desire is now gone ... All due to Shapeways ...

An artist submits a 3D model to Shapeways ... they examine the viability of making the model / prototype ... if it passes ... then the item is offered up for sale ... with some sort of compensation / royalty going to the artist

There are several companies out there that do similar things ... but it seems Shapeways is offering several things the others dont ... 1) Extremely fast free shipping (from the Netherlands to Colorado in 2 days) 2) they can produce durable models / prototypes in METAL

I encourage anyone who wishes to test their modeling skills to submit to Shapeways ... feel free to use any of my designs (not all on this page are mine) ... all I ask is that you credit me as the original designer ... and notify me so I can purchase your designs

Die #30000 is currently under production ... and 29 of the 30 sides are designed
