PLACE HOLDER is not really a location ... it is a lack of a location
PLACE HOLDER always has a QUANTITY (QTY) = 0 ...
It represents a die or dice that ... * Is a duplicate die/dice already part of the collection * Is a die/dice being sought ... the entry is a reminder * Does not exist as it is part of a MULTI-FUNCTION die
The vendor whose die/dice are first added will have a QUANTITY > 0 ... any others will be PLACE HOLDERs and have a QUANTITY = 0
Dice
of this type may be part of an entire set and the photos (often
displayed on BoardGameGeek) will include duplicates that are not counted
for the total collection QUANTITY
Example of this type
Collection photo The dice that are part of the collection are outlined and the quantity is in the bottom left corner
Database Entries Note the entries with QUANTITY (QTY) = 0 ... and in the corresponding DESCRIPTION ... <BRAND> DUPLICATE
2) Die/dice that are 'sought' are often part of a set for which additional dice are needed to complete the set The die/dice sought are not shown in the photo
Example of this type
Dragon Dice (By SFR) have dice of varying rarity ... Sometimes I am unable to afford an entire set This list of SWAMP STALKERS shows both what I have and what I need
3) A die that serves multiple purposes (MULTI-FUNCTION) can have multiple database entries only one of which will have QUANTITY > 0
Example of this type
This 12 sided die that is numbered ...1-2 six times ...1-3 four times ... 1-4 three times The database entries have QUANTITY = 1 for 12 sides (that is the number of sides of the shape) and QUANTITY = 0 for 2 ... 3 ... and 4 sides This denotes that this die can be used as a d2 ... d3 or d4
